Puppy & Dog Training | St Louis Pet Trainers | Canine Obedience Class

Is your dog jumping on guests, barking uncontrollably, pulling on the leash, or hopping on the furniture? Now’s the time to nip that bad behavior in the bud by enrolling in a dog obedience training school!

Dogs want to obey commands and be better companions – it’s in their nature to follow the Alpha (you). But as far as we can tell, dogs and people speak very different languages, which makes it difficult for Pet Parents to deter bad habits and instill good ones.

With the help of professional Kennelwood dog trainers, our canine training programs teach Pet Parents the skills needed to effectively communicate with their pets. Our experts have trained thousands of dogs over the years, from puppies to adult canines, and have the tools and techniques to help you take control of your home.

Make an appointment and take advantage of a FREE evaluation from one of our professional trainers. They’ll assess not only your dog’s training aptitude but also your own personal goals to accomplish by the end of the class (or classes, if you’ve got a wily pup on your hands). As always, if you have any questions about our puppy training or dog obedience programs, please contact your nearest Kennelwood Pet Resorts school for information.

Puppy Training

Getting your puppy started on the right paw from the beginning will shape desired behavior and prevent unwanted behavior. But if you’ve ever tried to train a puppy, you know how difficult it can be!

With a Kennelwood pet trainer at your side, you’ll receive a customized puppy-training regimen and plan that fits the needs of both you and your soon-to-be “Good Dog.” These training programs emphasize the importance of proper socialization, basic obedience, grooming manners, and more. We also help housebreak your puppy and break typical bad habits like mouthing, jumping, chewing, and pulling on leashes. Our trainers also teach Pet Parents how to become the Alpha and lead by example.

Day Training

Our Day Training program is a very convenient solution for owners who want to correct or improve their pet’s behavior.

The program is simple in design: Pet Parents drop their off dog at a Kennelwood training center each morning, and our trainer works with the pet throughout the day. When the owner picks up their pet in the evening — or at a time that’s more convenient — they’ll have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the in-store dog trainer to review accomplishments and discuss exercises that can be done at home.

Our Day Training obedience classes are the best option for young-to-adult dogs who need some additional guidance.

Board ‘N Train

Part boarding, part dog training, this program is ideal for Pet Parents who operate on very tight schedules or travel frequently.

Like our Day Training option, obedience training through Board ‘N Train starts every morning with some exercises led by our pet trainers. We’ll teach basic dog training commands like “heel,” “climb,” “come,” “sit,” “down,” and “stay.”

Instead of returning home when school ends, however, pets are boarded in our first-class facilities. All training and care taking is provided 24 hours a day, and Pet Parents may even have the opportunity to watch their dog through a special webcam situated in their rooms.

Prior to enrolling in this dog training program, we suggest inquiring about our free Training Evaluation.
